Seaham north pier been repaired

Here is a couple of pics of the north pier been repaired nice to see them working late as winter is approaching and got the go ahead for both piers for the seaham open so there will be 75 pegs on both piers for this event







So lets hope they get the first faze completed on time

Yes Stew but they are only temp while work is been carried out mate also been cod to 3-1/2lb on the hall last night

Robbo the set date for re-opening is the 1st of november mate then closed again on the 1st april till november 1st 2015

Can anyone tell me if the spiles are still accessable? It is a good mark to take the old man who is pretty frail these days but still enjoys a fishing session

Only way that can happen from what I see is by allowing access down the slip road under the bridge then onto the base of the pier.
The trail down the side of the bank on the new steps (for want of a better description) is hard work with weak knees but getting back out is something you need to avoid if you can. With a heavy tackle box, rod(s), rod stand etc it takes Sherpa Mensing and his crew to manage it all.
