I have just spoken to the seaham club chairman Phil Brennan and he has assured me that the north pier will not be closed until at least 5 years time, and when the work starts this year on other projects members will still be able to access the north pier, he was adamant about this fact , and i can see his point ,these are only rumors about seaham north pier being closed,i however know for a fact that it will stay open ,as i have just spoken to the club chairman at 20.32pm tonight 15/07/09, and he has asked me to tell anyone who is even slightly worried that there is nothing to worry about, if you need conformation yourself give him a ring.Hope this puts a stop to the rumors---Karl :):):):)

Hiya all, I am Phil Brennan Chairman of the SSAC, I have had phone calls tonight informing that the North Pier at Seaham is about to close, THESE ARE NOT TRUE In 4 or 5 years subject to the funding being available the pier will close for approx. 1 year for refurbishment We at the club are raising the £26,000 required to install fencing required for us to be able to bring the south pier into use for club members. This is required due to anti terroism laws to protect ports, airports etc.If anyone wishes to contact me then its [email protected] or 07827445748 at anytime for clarification on any points.
Rumours are dangerous things, especially when they are wrong. THE NORTH PIER AT SEAHAM IS OPEN TO MEMBERS, ACCESS WILL BE VIA THE BACK OF CASTLE ONCE THE OTHER AREA IS SHUT OFF FOR WORKS TO BE CARRIED OUT.Contact me anytime, please do not believe or spread untruths, check with us firstThanks to Karl for bringing this to my attention
Best regards Phil Brennan

Thanks for taking the time to put that straight Phil and welcome to NESA.

Jim.

Hiya Jim, you are most welcome. I only deal in truths, rumours will be investigated (I never trust anything an anger tels me!!!!!) and only then confirmed or denied. Thank you for the welcome to NESA by the way.
I am no longer the Chairman for various reasons, but I still have my important contacts, anything I can do to help or you are unsure about please just ask.
Best regards
Phil
