Seaham or Amble?

Evening,
just purchased a 17ft boat with my mate and looking at mooring at either Seaham or Amble, any idea which is the best venue, pros and cons of either venue.
Any info appreciated

ha ha good reply, in between both locations Ryton, so doesn't make a lot of difference travelling wise to either location, just looking for comments on the locations and any members who have boats at either lcation advice would be good

Alright john, do you not fancy The Tyne, Royal Quays? Warren told me you were getting a boat, what did you end up getting?

Hi John, have you decided against trailering and launching?
There are several marinas in the area, including the Royal Quays which will probably be the closest to you. They have berths for 3 to 12 month terms so you could have the best of both worlds.

looked at the Royal quays as well and as yet still undeceided
got a 17ft smartliner with a 50 suzuki
Kev fancies south me north think a day in the car looking at the options is best

amble is tidal,and at low water is one of the most dangerous ports on the north east coast,but once you are oot the scenery is good.excellent choice of wreck and ruff ground within easy reach.

fishing wise its as good or as bad as anywhere else

Seaham is on a lock gate, Hartlepool marina (lock gate) kafiga (24hr) is too far, RQ is on a lock, have you looked Sunderland, they are straight into open sea 24hrs

thanks Paul, not looked at Sunderland mates coming up mid Feb so will have a good look around

Sunderland is the better option I think. Only £650 to go on the chains (plus harbour fees) for a year for < 18ft. Full 24hr tidal access and secure car park.
