Fished the Pier yesterday, 4.30pm to 9.15pm with Terry & Les (Eltel & Fishcakes). Left home with the Aircon on in the Car & showing 15deg.bright Sunshine. Turned off A19 down toward Seaham, thick Fog & 10 deg. Spring at last, Not.
Pier was quiet with only 4 guys on but got quite busy as time went on. Brian J came along for a late session, good to see him again.
The Water was like Chocolate with masses of Tree Branches & all sorts of rubbish & to top it off, was quite choppy, didnt look good.
One guy who had fished there all his life said he had never seen anything like it.
The fishing was dire, in almost 5 hours, i had 1 Flounder, Les had a small Codling, Brian pulled in a canny Pouting & the lads further down had a couple of Flats.
Spoke to a guy as we came off & he had a call from the Roundhead off his m8 who had just had a 1.5lb Codling though.
Brian was optimistic that it would get better into darkness, but i wasnt convinced, the Lure of a warm House & a drop of Captain Morgans was too much to bear,
so that was it. Crap session but good company, hope it picked up for them after we left.
