Alreet guys, ive probs asked this before but im going to the club this week to join up, what do i need to join and how long does it take to get your key through? Im off work til monday so was hoping to get a couple of sessions in before i have to go back to work. Cheers.
 
Nice one cheers mate, i'll be going down in the next day or 2 so should be on there this weekend sometime, weather pemitting! Dont suppose you have the number just so i can check to see if someone will be there so im not having a wasted journey? Cheers.
 
Cheers, much appreciated. Has there been much doing on the pier lately or is it like everywhere at the mo i.e flat as a fart! Oh aye, how many comps do you have to fish to qualify for the big un at the end of season, is it the fur and feather? Thanks again.
 
to qualify for entry into xmas comp you have to fish 7 comps in the year (15 for free club fees the following year but still have to pay insurance ect )
lots of flatties going at mo on peir
5 comps for junior to enter junior xmas comp

Do any of the opens count towards those or is it just club matches? Im hoping to join up tomorrow and fish the pier on friday so hoping for a bit of settled weather, have there been any doggies yet? Id love a thornie aswell but id be happy with owt at the mo!
 
Cheers ken, i'll ring 2mora and make sure theres someone there first before i head off but if not then it will be saturday, just been talking to harra aswell so hes gonna join up aswell, looking forward to wetting a line this weekend tho!
 
told you to go on sat lucky there was ex commitee member there to sign you up or you would have wasted your time . good to see you again hope there was still fish about .
 
the young one did it again in the junior comp yesterday .

cleared the board with the only size fish a cod 1.08 lb

Havent been online for a couple of days so just got pm and read this thread, joined up on friday and went on the pier, not a sniff til nearer top water and got a small codling from the round end was going to fish the 20-30 marks but the divers were working there. Moved down to the 10 ish mark and ended up getting a nice plaice 36cm, harra had a small bass and coalie. Went down again today to get some fresh air and fished the 66 mark but got nowt, i'll give you a ring next time im heading down gazzawill and wet a line with you. Any ideas who won the comp today?
 
eddie talbot won with 3 flatties 1.34 lb
ken newton 2nd 1 flattie 1.12 lb also got heaviest fish and first in the pairs with the wife shirley who caught 2 flatties and came 4th or 5th.
dave stoker came 3rd with a1 flattie 1.11 lb .
 
ive got to get down the club and get my membership sorted out ffor this year,i do love a summers night on the pier coalie bashing with the light tackle,im thinking about going along on friday ,if anyone fancies a dabble,all hinges on the weather for me,ill probably go down for around 3pm and fish the tide up and probably a couple hours on the ebb.
 
yep sounds good,just hope i dont get called into work :S ,as has been the case recently.i still got ye number here so i will let ye know.
