the 2nd and 3rd prize money has dropped slightly , due to the club having to tighten its belt because of overheads , gas ,elec rates etc. the green wall is ok to fish , but be carefull as some parts of it can be cut of with a rising tide .

hi will there be many kettles or toasters on the prize list this year mine has decided to give up

That's the annual Tyne fishing competition... Great thing about that is you catch the toasters and kettles yourself! Theres also the possibility for shopping trolleys, traffic cones and if your really really lucky a car! So good luck! :P

hi there. i look forward to trying in this competition. i have had a look on ur website but can not find any specific info on rules and regulations of this match...any banned baits? overhead casting only ? how many hooks? size limits? where can i find info on this online ?also how does the heaviest bag and sealed weight works ?

codcatcher3000 i will try to answer your questions.
the website is down and is only showing old info.
there are no banned baits in this comp or any ran by seaham angling club.
there is no pendulum casting on the pier , its is allowed on the beaches as long as it is not deamed as dangerous . off the ground casting over head casting is ok .
3hooks per trace allowed , a treble hook is classed as 3 hooks
size limits are in the brochure .
in this comp all fish must be signed for by a steward or angler fishing near you ,
the heaviest bag is an optional pool with every thing paid out for the person who has the heaviest bag of fish , as in the comp heaviest bag will get 1st pick off the prize table and so on till all prizes are taken .
everyone who enters the sealed wieght that catches a fish could win the total amount paid in to the sealed weight pot.the lowest weight and the highest weight are put in the machine and it randomly picks a weight , the nearest to that weight takes the pot .
the main comp is 1 prize per angler ,so if you win heaviest fish £1000 that is all you can win apart from optionals, so you could win the heaviest bag optional and the sealed weight optional and the pairs optional .
tickets should be in tackle shops from monday mid day .
any further info needed contact the club or me on here and i will answer what i can .
