Hello lads just in from our week away up at Seahouses.
Tried different places and failed miserably to land a Bass on a plug or spinner-and i tried from Banbourgh beach to seahouses. There was sea trout in the water because i seen one leap out near me.
Floated for Pollack at Dunstanborough and the gent on the castle let me though for nowt (thanks for the tip guys) whilst the missus and kids had a tour of the castle. Used sandeel but again no luck.
Best fishing of the week was floating in the harbour using ragworm. Caught loads of undersize coalie (or penwicks as we used to call them when i was a lad in Hartlepool).
Was tempted by a 3 hour boat session on board Unity but decided to save myself for our all day job next Monday at Craster with some lads from work.
A couple of down sides to seahouses is having no fresh bait in any of the local shops and the harbour pier walls (north and south) are built to high to fish outover on. Its a shame because when the weather is right i bet there is some excellent fishing to be had.
Mick.

well done though mate for gettin out and havin a go, headin out meself in search of some bass:) hopfully get a couple pics on the morra:D

used to dig some canny ragworm next to the south harbour dont know if you still can if I remember right the digging was quite easy

aye well done anyway mick, me and my daughters have had a good sesh or two fishin the harbour on an evening for coalies, great fun. am going up there for a week a week on monday so here's hoping i can get out for a few hours. we nearly always manage to get enough crab over low water from any of the rocky/kelpy bits for a couple of hours fishin. worth bearin in mind if you can't get worm anywhere;)
