well, with the forecast not good enough for the boat I thought i'd try a few hours Mackie bashing. Friday afternoon I had takes from 5 macks but the seal relieved me of three. Saturday there were two seals who between them took 11 of the 12 I had on and I only just managed to get that one in because I hooked it close in. I have never reeled in so many Macky heads! They both stuck there heads out of the water and stared at me. I told them "i know your faces, if I see you around my boat you have had it". But that's all part of the game I suppose. There was millions of sprat and sand eel around, I hooked several of each on my spinner. Good fun

Hi there, you don't mind if I ask where you were fishing at all mate. I'm a bit rusty after just getting back in to fishing and was wondering where the best place to catch mackerel was.
Thanks

there seems to be hundreds of them around the tees now, wouldn't be so bad if they shared , but the greedy sods want it all and they know that if there are anglers about then it's easy pickings. Expert filleters as well, it was like a Tom & Jerry cartoon when I was bringing up head and bones. I should put an inflatable walrus in the water, they'll soon scarper then .

I suppose they are part of the eco system and we will just have to find a way round them. If the sea can sustain that many then it must be doing ok
