Searching on tynemouth pier ??

Was on shields pier last night and heard quite a few lads from the middle of tynemouth pier shouting on i thought it was another good fish caught but 10 mins later the lifeboat came flying out with its search lights on. He then came over to ssp looking aswell, after a couple of minutes of searching he went away but a search team went along tynemouth pier on foot, the lifeboat was asking has anyone jumped fro SSP. I hopethat if someone did jump in hes safe and sound.
Can anyone shine a light as to the facts of what went on last night

Yeah I seen a bit activity going on aswell last night but I was down by the gate. Hope no1 was hurt.

Same thing happened a couple nights before, helicopter,rescue team and lifeboat, Hope nobody was hurt but sounds like more t@@t hoaxers again

son was out, had been a report of someone jumping off Tynemouth pier, nothing found.

I was fishing the Whitley open on Saturday night, around 9 o clock the helicopter and life boat was out, only for 20 minutes, searching around the piers.

i was on ssp saturday aswell,police chopper beaming on both piers,along rocks inside and out,lifeboat in the river mouth,police office came up shields pier and he says someone claiming to be a fisherman had phoned and threatened to jump off pier,but did not say which 1,so they were searching both
