Seat box Sherpa

Do any of you use one of these with your seat box? I've been looking at the Breakaway backrest conversion kits which are around the £40 mark, that's twice the price I payed for the box. The Sherpa kit is around 18-20 quid which is more like the price I am willing to pay, but are they any good?
Any reviews welcome lads and lasses. I have read the internet reviews but I would like to know if anyone fishing the same area as me thinks they are any good or not.
Cheers,
Mark.

Ive never used or seen anybody use the sherpa
I own the breakaway backrest and find it well worth the money im sure if you post up in the wanted section somebody might hae a spare they could sell you

think mackem chris got one of the sherpas got to agree with the breakway backrest i only paid a fiver for me box and forty quid for the backrest

No one got one then:D
Thanks for the replies lads. I know the Breakaway Backrest ones are popular but they are expensive for what they are and I don't need the backrest bit just the carrying straps.
Might give the Sherpa a North East trial and see what it's like.
If I get one I'll report back on what it's like.:yltype:

my m8 uses 1, he says its like u dont know u'v got a box on ya back very comfortable. he had the Breakaway backrest 1'st & never looked back since the sherpa.
the thing with the sherpa is that it can b tightend easly while on ya back so it dose'nt move around while walking so no rubbing or bouncing about on the move.

Go the breakaway back rest mate if you fit it correctly its no problem to walk up and down the pier with it on your back just don't over fill the box with lead as I did

I use the breakaway and had to tape some padding on to the bottoms because like said before it digs into the bottom of my back but apart from that its spot on

I have both - the Sherpa and The Breakaway. I have the Breakaway attached to the smaller of my two Shakespare boxes and use The Sherpa on the larger box. The Breakaway has a backrest which may be important to you, whereas the Sherpa does not. For carrying on my back I consider The Sherpa to be much more comfortable and easily adjusted. The Breakaway does the job too but can dig into you and is not so easily adjusted. The Sherpa has a strap across your chest which stops the box moving. I personnaly much prefer The Sherpa and can highly recommend it.

.........and another thing - the Sherpa can be detached from the box in a couple of seconds and so can easily be used on any other box that you may decide to take with you on any particular trip - so if you have more than one box to choose from, this may be an advantage as The Breakaway has to be secured to a box with bolts and so becomes a "permanen"t fixture to it.

Just an update on this post. I bought a Sherpa, £15.50 delivered, a bit less than the retail price. I'm very impressed, fits both my Beta and Team box with very little adjustment. Very comfortable when walking and climbing and straps adjustments are quick and easy.
And another little bonus that is not mentioned in the sales garb, it can also be used as a cushion for your box.
Overall very happy with it.
