Left the Royal Quays this morning on board Amadeus full of entusiasm. First stop Mackeral for bait, that was not a problem. Now off to the Wrecks no matter what I tried I could not buy a bite. decided on a complete change of tactics changed from a fifty class rod and used a twenty class, with 20lb braid 3ft trace and a blue Shad.

!st Drop a nice pollock of 6lb
ended up with one codling about 4.5lb and another two pollock biggest 8lb.

What a pleasure it is to play a fighting fish on light tackle. Looking forward to the next trip, all in all a good day.

got to agree with the light tackle, i use a 20lb rod all the time whether im wrecking or on the hard ground and you get a great fight even from some of the smaller fish.
i even used to use a little 9ft spinning rod at times and got some nice cod, no better sight than seeing your rod doubled over and hearing it creek lol.

it was nice to be there well done graham, the batterys must have been better in yours than the ones in mine i will book up again
