im thinking of trying shads this year for the first time! what are the best ones to use and wheres best place to get them

cheers les

Storm in my opinion orange or blue

Loads of other makes and they are all about the same but try and get ones with a nice size hook and ones that dont have loads of tail before the hook.

Also sandeel's from fishtek and twin tails outfished shads for me everytime last year so have a look at them...you fish them the same way.

As coddy said the 5" is the only size i use and as you can see from the link he added its been talked about tiem and time again.
6" twin tails and 6" sandeels i use also.

Was a parcel waiting for me when I got in from work today, that's me all shaded up now.

On a good day i could lose half of what you have there :)

Been out on the boat this morning 8am to 11am, by it was cold...never wnr fishing just a test of some things.

Them are just the tip of the iceberg, went thru a lot last year, going out prepared this season.
Was my first time trying Calcutta shads last year after getting some on offer at the NE fishing show. Them white with pink tails were the boys.

aye tone, we got a shad for every occasion ...... well, :p maybe 50 shads each for every occasion :) :) ..... got to be prepared you never know whats going to be best on the day :)

Don't be afraid to try the bigger shads, the lip hooked 4 pounder in the pic took a 9" shad.
