As Bert mentioned earlier in the week we decided to give the wrecks a miss this week and try something different. Alcohol prevents me going in to detail but (hopefully) here's a few pics

Didn't get photos of the mackerel, countless whiting and dabs, not forgetting the hag fish

Isn’t it great when a plan works and you get a good day’s fishing even in these lean times; without needing to burn a lot of fuel too by the looks of it. That’s a cracking pair of gurnard. Well done, and nice pics.

Nice1, we went down the wreck route again, went 4 mile north 22mile out fished 9 wrecks and had for the 2012 standard half box of fish between us, defo doing the anchor up half day rough ground half day next weekend..next to nothing on the wrecks since mid June, even the bankers only chucking up 1-2 fish.

Nice red gurnard, they always look like they should be swimming around your toes in Spain or something

No reds caught richy just a small grey and a canny tub .. I thought I was into a Canny turbut on my flatty rig but it turned out to be a Canny cod .. had my heat racing for a few moments. . if the fishing stays poor then we are after something different next trip . as said earlier you never know what's gonna come up . its either that or pull the boat out for the anual clean up and maintanance over the winter months ready to do it all again next season. unless the kerd come back and the chikinz fook off .
