I picked the lads up at 5.0am this morning, just Bert, Kenny & myself as Kyle had an argument with a punch ball machine and lost :D:D

After the usual checks we were out the piers for about 5.30am, first stop a wreck very close to the pier and we were straight in to some nice fish on crab baited flowing traces. We took 6 fish in a row 4 of them about 8lb so we gave the Slinky crew a shout, as often happens that proved to be the kiss of death and the fishing died off. We then tried another couple of close in wrecks and picked up a few fish before heading out to the wreck that was prolific in previous weeks, the wind out there was too strong and it was difficult to hold bottom. We were just heading back inshore and probably would have anchored close in to fish for flatties had Norman & Tony not tipped us off that a wreck they were fishing was on fire. As per his report he wasn't kidding :D with shads (when their tails weren't getting bitten off ) and pirks seemed to be the best tactic although baited traces were also working. It was just fish after fish, I lost count how many "last drfits" we had, but we called it a day about 12.30pm.

Our tally for the day was 62 cod to 11lb, 1 pollack & 1 ling.

Once again an unforgettable trip, many thanks as always Bert, just the "fix" I needed after missing the last 3 weeks, and thanks again to Norm & crew for the tip off ;).

Sorry no pics :(

Cheers!

Well done Keith I was a tiny bit jealous when I saw your double but secretly knew I probably wouldnt have the energy left to reel one in:D

I know I have been very lucky to experience a day like this.

Cracking day out and it was nice to see nesa members helping each other find the fish.
