Bert, Kyle & myself this morning, picked the lads up at 4.0am and we were out the piers for about 4.45am. We knew it was gonna be choppy so I should of refrained from the vino last night but didn't :(. The lads were into to fish straight away and I was struggling again as well as feeling very ropey to say the least. I eventually gave in a put some ground bait down either side of eventually catching a few. Bert was also feeling rough and we were drifting at nearly 2knts so we out voted Kyle and headed in, back on the moorings for 7.45am, total catch 24 cod, Bert was top man catching 11 of the 24.

In future if there's a N E or S in the forecast I'm T-Total the night before fishing :D

Cheers lads!!

Well done lads for sticking it out so long, you deserve the catch ........
I took a look along tynemouth at 3.45am and cancelled (had hoped the wind would have dropped off overnight so as to leave a few hours before it blew up --- but, not to be)... sorry Tony mate (especially since you were all togged up and raring to go at marina for 4.00am :) ), better weather next time eh ....

Should be fun next week, Bert is away so it's Dum & Dummer in charge, that should be the cod safe for another week, lets just hope we can say the same about the boat :o.

Nice one lads for getting out there - I know it's only 24 Cod this week but you'll have better days - honest :p:D

TBH Norman I was grateful to go back to bed...I'd also imbibed the night before and only managed 30 minutes kip :o...like you say - until next time ;):D

Am going to drown some Rag and fish the river tomorrow night I think :)

I think I managed to avoid the camera.

Not nice reaching when you've got nowt to bring up, soon recovered when the beehive pie was put in front of me though :p

I Spent £16 on stomach settlers on the way home only to find out Mrs B had already bought 3 bottles :D

I must admit my sense of balance and co-ordination were all to pot today, like keith says i had a few shandys lastnight:confused:you would have thought that i would have learned my lesson by now
The cod were out there ready to grab your bait as soon as it hit bottom but with a 3-4 meter swell and a wind and tide confusion and a 2kt drift we were hooking up and loosing every drift  if the weather had been fine we might have even beat last weeks total
Well the deck hands are out un aided next week so be afraid.........be very afraid !! other boat owners that is,,,,not the COD :p
Well it will give the stocks a chance to build up again lol
