Cracking morning again - Cheers Lads! :)

Great pics Sless, and ya right about those dabs - delicious!!!

Thanks again Bert ;)

Yes a cracking day fish wise not weather wise:mad: but at least we got a few to take home! When i see the forcast last night i knew that we were not going far today and the weather was spot on ...:( But not to be disapointed we caught a few cod early on then put the pick out on the fine ground at the back of the North pier (flatty beds) and straight from the off we were pulling a Dab in every couple of mins some were of a good size about the pound mark!! There even was a show of good plaice (first this year!!!) and fish up to about 1.5-2lb were landed we had 7 in total :)
But the best was the turbot that i caught its only the second Turbot that i have seen landed from the boats out of the Tyne and a first for me ..so i was made up !! i may have only been under 2lb but it was a PB and a first for me out of the Tyne
It was DAB DAB DAB DAB till the weather got the better of us and we retired to the Hive for a pint and a pie.... Great day great company cheers chaps:thumbup:
When is the weekend weather going to start behaving its self ???
Flat calm all week then come Friday night WHOOOOSH.....Doh
There is always next weekend for more Dabs .............lol

Cheers Bert, the skipper gave us a lesson in catching plaice today, catching all 7 plaice, 8 if you include the one that came up disguised as a mackeral :D

Nice fish lads. Is the flatty beds a known mark or is it a bit secret squirrel?

What tactics did you use for the flatties, 5 at a time on baited feathers?;)

cheers

No secret Stuey, just behind the pier, I don't know the exact location, Bert uses landmarks to put the boat in the hot spot.

Small hooks needed, Size 1/0 ish, baited with worm and tipped with macky or sandeel strip.
