Bert, Skull and myself set off about 6.30am, XCWeather was spot on as usual, so no wind to speak of, a nice flat sea and even some sunshine.
We headed straight to a wreck off St Marys only to find a big fat seal lurking around it :( we had a few drops and despite the seal landed a few cod on baited flowing traces.

Next stop was a couple of wrecks straight out from the Tyne piers, same story there, a couple of cod, a small ling and another seal :( so we moved on to last years hot spot.

Very interesting to see big clouds of what must of been bait fish on the sounder, but sadly no prolific fishing / feeding frenzy as yet, well for myself & Bert anyway, Skull however was pulling in a fish a drift on his secret shads. :D

Called it a day around 11.30 with 12 cod on deck (so excited to get going we forgot to take a fish box )

Final score Skull 10 :o:o, Bert 1, Keith 1.

Thanks as ever Bert, a canny start to the season and a fantastic morning to be out.

Great report mate ! Yes it was a pleasure to be afloat on such a great morning and a few for the pan aswell .. champion And as for the clouds of feed ? Well its a matter of time till the hungry kerd sniff them out ! Im sure once the Kerd have spawned they will be needing to put on a few pounds by having a feeding fest on location x
Let's hope they like lead and plastic lol

Lol, Forgot the fish box! How many times you go fishing and take a bag and catch nowt.:D Great to see things are moving, more and more "catch" reports comming in. Great stuff.:):)

there must be something on the sea floor over that area that draws the bait fish to the area...

good to see the fish coming in!

XC Weather is looking good at this early stage but then t'is only tuesday :D

Did Skull not just ask them nicely to get in the boat, I would, after putting a hook through my own lip.
