Bert, Kyle, Kenny & myself headed out about 6.30am on saturday morning armed with ragworm, runnys, squid, razor & mussell.
Headed straight to the yellow can and were into fish almost instantly, all codlings around the 2-3lb mark, Bert was using shads which took a better fish about 5lb, the rest of us were bait fishing. The fish continued to come in at a steady pace until the tide eased so we moved to a wreck not far from the can, Kenny continued bait fishing while the rest of us tried the pirks, again the fish came in at a steady pace to all methods.
We called it a day around 12.30pm and headed home with a total catch of 37 codlings & 1 ling. Probably the best morning I can remember without the killer crab for bait.
A few firsts:
Bert - First fish of the season on shad
Bert - First fish of the seaon on a pirk
Kyle - First ling of the season
Kenny - First to catch double figures of fish this season.
Must remember to take a fish box next time!
Thanks again for the brekkie Norman.
