Shady's start to the season

Headed out at 6 30 this morning with Bert and Kieth in the forcasted "showers", ( it was tipping it down) , but as we got a mile or two past the piers it started to ease off, and the sun came out.

First stop, the inshore wrecks, and Bert the Pirk weaved his magic and netted a nice cod caught on.......yes you guessed. A few more came aboard all between 3 and 5lb . We then went off another mile or so to another shot and Kieth and myself picked up a couple of keepers, along with a few scotchies.
on the way back in we picked up a few more codling to round the day off.
The fish were caught on Pirks, light shads and Kieth's ( choke a ragmans horse ) baits

The sea was ok today with just a short chop on, and the drift was ok early on, but picked up mid morning,so the fishing was comfy.

Great to be out having the crack , thanks Bert and Kieth., let's hope it get's in to full swing soon.

Thanks Norman, Kieth diddn't bring his camera so he subbied the whole job on to me. i put them on photobucket like he said, and ended up digging them out of my pics, hope you get out next week.

Cracking fishing lads, that was us just to the south if you's when you headed out. I scored a blankety blank and Micky saved his blank with a scotchie!
We had a cracking drift speed and tried a few wrecks but hopefully next time, the boat performed great anyway.

Good report and thats what its all about getting out there catching the fish and having a good crack among/st yourselves .lovely clear pics and looks like a canny bag of cod too so well done lads.
