I think you can still get a 1 day course/non migratory trout rod license from the post office. Then you just buy a day ticket from Sharpley. When posty is shut I think you can do it online and they give you a number to take with you.
I always here good things about it. I've only fished it once (only coz I sea fish now), had 9 trout that day (my best day fly fishing actually) My father in law went there a week ago or so had about 4 or 5 good trout out. Saying that, he had a 14lb odd one from Sharpley yesterday lol
The rod license isnt needed because of a legal loop hole I think lol sumit to do with the water coming from the tweed and that being classed as scottish water, and you dont need a license in Scotland. Something like that. All info on the website if I remember rightly
Great imfo Mick, thanks for that. I only fished a couple of times last year so never bothered to renew the yaerly licence, saw the calm forcast for today, and fancied a 4hr catch/release session.
