Fished 7am to 6pm

Conditions were very sunny and warm light southerly.

A few fish were rising but were hard to tempt on the surface.

Caught 9 biggest 8lb my mate caught 6 seen very few fish caught.

Tried various methods only one worked Grears size sixteen buzzers hung under an indicator at 4 foot.


Due to fish movement restrictions no double figure fish can be removed at present.

Steve I only started fly fishing 2 years ago because I was disillusioned with sea fishing.

Once you catch a trout you can’t believe the fight you get it is very addictive. I have talked to a load of people lately who have taken up fly fishing from a sea fishing back ground.

If you do decide to give it a go get some casting lessons and if you can go with some one with a lot of experience. This defiantly gives you the short cut to success.

They give very good fly tuition and casting lessons at Sharpleys for not a lot of money so I have been informed. There were a lot of people there on Sunday getting lessons and they totally closed one lake to use solely for beginners.

Tell me about it!!!
I decide a few years back Id done with fly fishing, sold a stack of gear to Bri h I think (?), and recently got back into it, had to buy gear at 5 times the cost of what I sold it for!!!
But your right, its addictive mate.

Still got it paul - along with lots of £££`s worth of Hardy gear that i bought of Sless ,then Guess what Sless decides to take the sport up and spends Hundreds to stock him up on gear

Cracking Catch considering the recent conditions!
I agree lad\'s, to be honest I Just like being out Fishing
whether it being, sea, still, running or tidal water.

I start flyfishing approx 15 years ago (when I was wee lad)
and this \'skill\' enables me to sucessfully fish when the sea fishing is poor.
Not only that, it enables you to try alternative methods, like fly fishing in the sea... or for pike or carp.

Unlike Sless who loves his shopping, I tend to stick with the same rod until its shot, or until I come across a good deal - and that\'s not me paying £600 for loomis or sage rod that will enable me to cast a couple of extra feet.... considering I get 95% of my fish no more than a couple of rod lengths out.
