shearer

I really hope he keeps Newcastle in the premier league, I think though he has been signed up as a season ticket salesman. I heard there were a lot cancelling their tickets for next season, this will slow it down a bit. If Ashley is being honest I wish him all the best, working on the mans past history though, I have my doubts. If he had done something as soon as Joe Kinnear took ill again then I think it may have given him a little creedence, possibly too little too late.

Jim.

Might just stick to winning the Championship next year ,and moving on from there

Interesting theory being bandied about at work is that it may not necessarily be a complete wash out for Shearer (if indeed these rumours are true) if Newcastle do go down - he can then ply his trade in the Championship, get the Toon back into the Prem then the next season ALL HAIL KING SHEARER and so on...

course it's all just waffle talk but it's nice to dream :red:

but of course we're staying up

my god there may be an atmosphere at Sid James - atleast they wont have to learn anything new

shearer repeated over and over again is quite simple even a skunk could do it.

lol at Keith - agree tho.

shearer

lets be honest who else wants the job, not one established mgr wanted it, again they are using publicity to bank roll a load of under achievers

I can see how people may argue that there will be a change of atmosphere and a lift around the place. but what about coaching and tactics? stories of him bringing in iain dowie as coach?? sacked by coventry not to long ago if memory serves me correct? somehow i dont think messers hiddink, pulis, redknapp and benitez will be quaking in their boots! looking at the wider picture north east football is in a shocking state!

agree flatheed - just taking the mickey because i dare not even look at my own team - think i will become a darlo fan

given we all love an atmosphere and a bit banter... picture the top of the championship next season if all 3 teams go down

ok, not the prem, but there'd be some immense games played locally, that would better most premiership games

might do all 3 teams good in the long run as whoever came back up would certainly be fighting fit!

its looking like it could be a straight fight for the oblivion of championship football between our two nearest and not so dearest.current bookies odds on going down:- wba 1/100 boro 1/5 mags 4/5 or 8/11 hull 5/2 mackems 7/2 stoke 9/2 and pompey 13/2. hopefully itll be hull but my gut feeling is it will be one from this region and it seems the bookies agree. lot of footy left however, fingers and toes crossed.
