theres a post about somewhere that they aint too bad i find the fillets a bit small, depending on fish size ha ha,but quite sweet to taste, and of course you have to descale them the post might have been on bsa site

nice one mate
what rig .bait hook size did u use for the pouting?

Used a reverse pulley rig so bait was hard on bottom as tide was still strong with size 2/0 hook baited with rag, lug and some peeler crab claws off the crab i used the cast before which i took a small codling on.

i caught a pouting of similar size a few years ago on roker, it was gut hooked so i kept it took it home to eat was a few more small bones compared to codling and the taste was quite strong sweeter fishy taste if you can get what i mean  1 fillet would have been enough for me but forced the 2nd fillet down out of respect for such a fish in terms of size.

looks like your pouting got tangoed nice fish davey welldone by the way i,ve got a 28mm on my rod the blank itself is 26.7 with the shrink tube on if you did,nt put the shrink tube on you might get away with a 26mm but i, do,nt no if the blank butt is tapered
