Shields Beach 08/02/15 (only 1 flattie but some canny pics)

Went down shields last Sunday, to fish either the pier or beach. Nice bit of surf on the beach so went down there looking for bass. Fishing a big rod out to the breakers and a small rod close in, using rag and lug. Only managed to get one fish, a nice size flounder, but it was a nice morning and took some pictures to pass the time!

Cheers, yes it's on the big beach, wreck is about 200/300 yards from the pier.

Unlucky mate on the bass but still better than sitting in the house mate

Great pics, especially those of the wreck. It is believed to be the "Constance Ellen" wrecked in a storm in 1901. There is an interesting article on it here SECRET OF THE SHIFTING SANDS - Shields Gazette
