Fished shields pier just before the blocks last night first cast got a canny lobster, then proceeded to lose around 8 sets of gear! Moved a little bit further down when the lads next to me went home and had 2 whiteys, 2 flattys and an eel, everything went back alive. Not a bad session kept busy by the little stuff, not a touch on the big cod baits!

Also left my tripod against the wall in my first spot, only realised when I was packing up, walked back along but it had gone walkies... Expensive session for nothing on the plate!

Jamie!

Did you not see anyone walking down with it ? Shame you never got it back !!!

Fishing around the blocks on a big tide like yesterday you will always lose gear i fished the end and only lost 3 sets all day

Well done on what you did catch it was a hard day had by all

Didn't see anybody walking down with it but I wasn't really looking for it as didn't realise I had left it till I was packing up. When I moved down it was clean ground which was a nice surprise!

Thanks for the offer toonboy but I will buy a new one this week, nice of you to offer though!

Jamie

Sorry to hear about losing your rod stand mate whoever nicked it should be ashamed. Good you got a few fish though. I always lose gear around the blocks but I think it's worth it if you get a good fish. Fishing aroung high water and big tides when the water is deeper helps stop you snagging up as much on the retrieve but it's still no help if the tide pulls you into a snag when you are on the bottom.
