Shields pier 11/2

Just a quick one. Went down last night for 3 hours. Resulted in a dab and a whitey so swapped to lug tipped with whites. Got one 4 1/2 and next cast got one 2 1/4 (someone told me you need fresh crab to catch codling just now?). Next 3 cast had fish on all 3 but the something seemed to had lifted and I got snagged up on way in and lost shock leader each cast so decided to pack up. Not a bad few hours though, couple af canny lads on there so had good craic. Between them they had a few whiteys and 1 small codling for just over a pound and one about 2 from further down the pier before I got there.

Thanks lads. They certainly done the trick this time as normal baits only seemed to get whiteys or dabs. Wish I had taken more with me as ran out which helped me decide to go homw even when the fish still seemed to be biting
