Had an afternoon session with me mate we had about 8 fish between us codling whiting and coalies. A couple codling and a coalie we're sized the rest just under. A strong westerly began to blow so we made our way home.

Lets hope the sea comes away in a couple weeks need a good northeasterly for the start of October.

The stamp of the sized codling nowt big 1lb 5oz been like this for the last couple sessions. Fish taken on fresh blow lug and frozen crab.

Were you on the end mate? I heard it was snaggy along there so never dared try it? How far do you have to chuck to clear the snags and find the fish ?

Not sure if a seen you walking off mate. But we fished the small wall into the channel between the two piers for the last hour of the flood and hour over high water then moved round slowly of the very front of the pier as the tide was going back out.

You can get snagged at any distance there are alot of line snaggs at the minute with the amount of mackerel feathers lost but once the big seas come it breaks them up and clears them out.

Usually a cast of 60yards+ remembering to let line out till your weight hits the bottom gives you a chance of getting your fish and gear back and a plain sinker with a rotten bottom helps.

Thanks mate, I will try down the end sometime. I noticed far less snags around the 44 mark than last time I fished there. Maybe less summer gear strewn about that a month ago.

Good job Davey, was down there the other day and had a couple of smaller ones but nowt of size unfortunatley... appears you stole my fish
