me and davey m headed down for 6.30pm nice night nothing but small stuff all night till around 1am l managed to pull out a nice cod of 2lb 4oz we fished till around 3am through all that rain that came just after 1am as we walked of pier we noticed some thing in the water near the ruble looked like a body but on closer inspection it was a log but as we got to first gate the police where there reports of a body in the water a lad fishing the first gate reported it so the coast guard was out serching we told them it was a big tree in the water we got of pier for 3.45am

as l said to davey last night l cant help it l did'nt think owt was gonna come out l was having a canny night with the under sized cod and dabs im just a spawny bugger

Yes i was wakened from a nice sleep to go and search for the 'body' which turned out to be a log, but better safe than sorry!

More to it than that mate. Well done on getting another one. I was knacked when I got back down the pier, at least the knee managed it.

I heard that the special branch were looking for a dead tree in the Tyne last night until they twigged on and rooted out the tree had been murdered by Dutch elm disease lol

Well done on the fish mate! Me and me mate were on there that day aswel we had a try at spinning but a blanked. me mate had two little pollock and lost a coley when he was lifting it up.we got talking to fishingmark who is a top bloke and had a bit crack with him.so with not having much decided to go over to our local spot at Tynemouth pier wich resulted in me getting a tiny whiting and me mate a coley.not a very good night fishing for me but a was happy to get out.
