Fished the first gate on Sunday battling the wind and rain, lost a shed load of gear and caught nowt, to cap it all my Imax suit leaked like a sieve (see post in shore fishing), pier was empty bar 3 lads who walked to the end and after 10 mins came back.

How far were you casting m8 as if you casted 50 yds or so you should/nt loss any gear and yesterday was the worst day to go out there fishing in those conditions as you were simply wasting your time. its definately blank-blank-blank when it rains ok.m8:D:D:D:D

as long as can remember the first gate has always been classed a clean ground area , but the last couple of year ihve found it fairly snaggy and lose weights every time i fish there, so tend not to these days, and actually find rubble, end of groyne and walkway less of a problem than the first gate, as a mentioned a few weeks back a fellow told me a small boat was not able to get his anchor free one day, so cut the rope to get free whether that is the problem i dont know, but i do know it is fairly snaggy there these days

Fished first gate few weeks ago lost gear, best move down between life saver & slab don't need much of a cast to hit clean ground & normally get fish
