Fished south shields pier today 11.00-6.00 only 2 other lads on the end and they dissapeared after 20 mins
Anyway first few chucks and the baits were coming back untouched then as soon as it startred flooding had my first knock but it went away
Next cast got a decent take and when retrieving seemed like a heavy fish which resulted in a whiting of about 1.5 lb also on had someone elses rig wrapped around mine with 2 sinkers and a bonus codling of about the same size
Bites were coming every chuck after that and lost 1 more up the wall not massive maybes 2-3lb
Decided on 1 last chuck but got nowt the lad next to me took a cod 2lb and didnt want it so hoyed it my way
Canny day
Baits were fresh crab fresh blacks rag and mussell

Good catch mate, need to get some pleasure fishing done myself too :), some good catches coming from my favourite haunting place (the pier), so need to get goin quick sharp!

Well done mate!

My mate rang me with a catch report and said you caught 2 sinkers and a codling on one of your casts well done mate !. He had 2 codling around the 2lb mark so he enjoyed his day aswell.

Nice day mate. Were the gates open? Only asking as could be going with a mate on Saturday and he would have difficulty climbing around if their shut due to the rail painting.

Andy mate, every sesh is a pleasure sesh:D

well done. Do you mind if i ask which mark you fished. We had a nightmare for tackle loss last night. Mark 44 seemed ok as did just past gate but most cod off the end by all accounts. When we were there yesterday had a couple of big fat seals for company.
Mick.

Fished the small wall 1st then straight off the end
The whole place can be a nightmare for tackle
Lost 3-4 sets of gear

Great catch mate, wish we had had your luck in the evening!

On a side note, Mussel seems to be working well for folk lately, which im happy about as its cheaper than peeler crab! ;)

I think yer right about the end being the best overall mark. easier fishing when tide is ebbing mate.
