shimano triton, speed master fightin star and fisatube turbo cast ht460c

[paranoid and surnburnt]

just bought a rod and reel off a friend who cant fish any more, its a shimano triton, speed master fightin star and the rod is a fibatube turbo cast ht460c both in good nick but as the reel hasn't been used in a while, i'll get it serviced at billy's before playing with it.
Didn't pay much but would appreciate your opinions on this setup.

not sure about rod mate but remember as a kid always wanting a shimano speedmaster good reels if i remember right, never hear much about them these days mind.

Just one tip; put some heavy oil in the bearings of that Shimano to help control it. Very fast running reels.

Good advice from Chris about the oil.........Owned one years ago : very smooth very quiet reel to cast with, and definitely VERY free running. Fast retrieve as well. 6 :1 I seem to remember.
