I hear shiremoor club has finished its a shame if its true fished with them years ago and it was a good club and all ways had the best open with conoflex , jamcod

It is true and is a big loss to the north east as this was one of the top clubs.

yes,unfortunately it is true but we were left with no choice as in the end there were only 5 or 6 fishing the matches reguarly.The open was always regarded as one of the best prize tables around and will be a big miss.
On another note i think it was brilliant to see 510 out for the Newbiggin open,hopefully more anglers are starting to realise that if they dont support our local clubs by turning out for these matches they risk losing more opens.I might also add that it is shamefull that the biggest club north of the tyne (members wise) are not running an open again this year claiming lack of members willing to get involved?

Agree mate there should be more people supporting there local clubs ..And your right there will be no tynemouth open this year can't comment on reasons why .. 510 is an excellent turnout for newbiggin but as you know most clubs have been hit hard in opens over the last few year with a few making a loss I try to get to as many of the opens as possible and don't know why more don't enter them its an excellent day out with the possibility that a good fish could win you a bit of money and its good to see everyone at the weigh in for a pint afterwards
