Areet lads just bought meself a greys g-mag seven.when a fill the spool with line am gonna ad a shock leader.av never used shock leader before and hear u have to get the not as small as possible.was hoping some ov u could share tips or explain the easiest way do do this cheers lads.

The bimini twist. Looks more complicated than it actually is, once you get the hang of it, you'll be tying it in the dark. Its the strongest leader knot out there.

for speed , tie a knot in the shocker , pass the mainline through and tie a simple bloodknot . plenty of spit and pull both ends tight .

thats what i use been using it since i was 13 never had any bother with it and very strong indeed and very very simple!!

Bimini twist or Albright knot if your leads snagged or you have a nick or scuff in your main line chances are you'll loose the lot

I have just bought a book of fishing knots off flea bay for a fiver.

Think it may be value for money if knots explained.

Mick.

Cheers for all ur help lads av went with the Albright knot it's easier than it looks! Al sort now tho waiting for me next session.thanx again

nowt wrong with the g-mags:)
stronger than a abu6500 but not as strong as a 525! clean to mixed ground a very good reel got two g-mag6s had no trouble what so ever with them!
ive heard the only slight problem is that if you put far too much pressure on the pinion gear it strips but ive not had any trouble with mine at all:)

What they like on heavy ground as that's what a fish the most?
g-mag7s are stronger than g-mg6s so you should have no bother at all!
at the end of the day you dont know till you try it john:)
you could love it or detest it! its all down to your own prefrence at the end mate:)

I use g-mags, clean bearings, drop of oil, pull the blocks out and let the mags do there thing, i love em, nice and smooth, never had a problem in the rough!
