Fished Blyth Beach tonight...sea was flat as a pancake so resorted to "scratching"...lovely clear night (bl**dy cold too :D)...saw umpteen really bright shooting stars so I made a wish...and guess what...

...my wish came true...:D

It wasn't a big fish but it was "size" at 29cms and weighed a mighty 9oz 6dr :red:

At least I didn't blank and was able to weigh in for my first club match :red::yltype:;):D

...and the little fella was returned safely as well after weigh-in...albeit somewhat further up the coast :o:D

Flatties are very robust creatures - you could wear a couple as flip flops for a week and they'd still gan back :exclam: maybe better as insoles (geddit) to keep the old plates fresh :p
 
falling stars i like ,the shooting ones are too quick for the eye and ya have time to concider your wish for falling ones lol
 
Could also be the tip light moving after 6 hours on a freezing beach - I can make my eyes move so mine makes circles and squiggles in the air after listening to my mate Geordie gannin on, and on ............
 
Last time I was fishing at Blyth Beach I saw 5 shooting stars. Made the same wish as Wallsendo, didn't come true.


Didn't even get a white plastic container :o

Nice one mate, better than nowt. Seen some amazing shooting stars over the years when I've been stood on the beaches.
 
ahhh so thats were ive been going wrong then,i saw a few shooting stars myself the last few times out but never made a wish & blanked , cheers for the tip wallsendo & well done :)

hi m8 nice to meet u on blyth beach last nite, at least the arial display made up for the poor fishing, :(bet paul didnt tell you he got nowt?
