I would prefer a sharper start but its no problem,I don\'t work on Fridays so its easy for me,suppose others will have work and family commitments if it was any earlier.
Jim is it possibe to get this \"Topped\",might be a problem with Tony being AWOL.
It might drift away down the list of posts if it does\'nt get a post for a day or two

Should be fine and may be able to drag out a few others. Will know nearer the time. I can sort out the scales from our club. Should be able to get them there one way or another even if I can\'t fish.

i think as the posts up and running with more taking an interest it should stay up top, them figures look fine to me ian ,i was gonna ask about heaviest fish (mine of course) but ill go with the flow id prefer a bit sharper start with 3 hours fishing but then again it depends who im coming with ,might have 1 or 2 in tow ill know after this weekend, still gotta butter the missus up yet :(

I\'m in whatever, but if given a choice and earlier start/finish

2 reasons,

1. might get a beer afterwards
2. the bairns might want to come along again
3. its a lang drive home!

ok its 3, and the last one a bit wet, but the bairn enjoyed herself last year and has mentioned it again this year!

Just looked in (can\'t keep away....lol)......suffering from work overload - needed a break.

As Alan\'s suggested, I\'ve moved this topic to the top.

There\'s no reason why the shore comp shouldn\'t include a lovely prize table donated by local dealers, business owners and individuals (Richie?) Clare could you sort this out for us please ...Cheers thanks. ;)

Them times I posted where just for starters to get some discussion going, which it has :D

I\'d be able to make it from about 6:00 onwards at the soonest, slightly earlier if I didn\'t go home from work first.

Ell, if you want prizes from the local supppliers, you know who they and all it takes for you to sort it is to ask them, so get your self in there ;)

i suppose the venue might have a bearing on start times as well.

getting through the tunnel for those that need to etc etc.

it might be nice if, as heather mentioned, we all end up on the pier. names to faces and a good bit crack etc.

if it was a fixed location like a pier, meet and weigh in etc would be easy to organise.

last year, peeps turned up at th erattler and then shot off to their chosen marks then returned breifly for the weigh in and shot off again.

plus if it was a fixed location, that might give us a bit more lee-way on start times, so what a bout a pier only (blyth/shields??) comp, could we get permission to do it on tynemouth pier as a one off, its for a good cause etc, or maybe just 1 beach?? ie south beach blyth, meet at the melton constable etc

just ideas so feel free to shoot me down!

Unless its between Blyth and Seaton Sluice that way theres less travelling between registering and fishing and packing up and weigh in if you know what i mean

I wanted to get back to all of you today but havn\"t had time will post in more detail tomorrow.
Some great ideas so far, as far as getting prizes from tackle shops I think a lot of people on here use different shops regularly and think one idea would be to see if we could all try to get a small donation rather than putting it onto a couple of people, just another thought. They could also be invited to fish the comp.
Will get back to you tomorrow.

Jim.

I don\"t personally mind making it a pier comp but would not like to force everyone to fish the pier as everyone has their own preferences. That could be optional and if most people want to fish Blyth pier we can make the meeting place a wee bit further north (plenty of car parks up there).
I think if most people can make it I would prefer a start about 7:00 to 7:30 give me some feed back on that as it is quite dependant on people finishing work.
I know most of you know the basic rules for comp fishing but an old set of rules that I could photo copy and hand out to everyone would be apreciated, could be sent to me by e-mail. I will check, sure I have some somewhere. Will hunt out the legal sizes and post them so everyone knows them.
Any other queries or Ideas feel free to post as this comp is for everyone on NESA so don\"t be shy lol.

Jim.

my vote is for the later time, and the comp to be a roving one, this will give the individual angler his or her choice on marks, including the pier will give those that dont fish the beaches or rock marks a chance, also the pier will help those who cant leave there children at home, they will be able to ensure the kids are safe and looked after.....just my thoughts

prefer a choice of beach or pier meself 7:30 is is good but i might be able to make it sooner
re prize money why not just split 50% all the way down
ie say 40 fish thats £400,200 goes to rnli leaving 200 50% of that 100 goes to the winner leaving 100 ,50% 2nd prize 50quid leaving 50 so 25 to 3rd place and 25 heavyest fish hows that sound ?? just a suggestion ;)
any chance of posting the rules as it might be a bit akward reading em if its peeing down :(

I am going to see if I can get the afternoon off work (for traveling!) and then I will be up for it ;)

I am a complete novice at this comp thing so any suggestions etc would be great, also never fished that area at all so any marks etc would be useful (in fact it will be a miracle if I catch a fish at all lol)

Cheers
Will

Jim this is just a thought but how about keep it in the Blyth area ie beach/pier therefore the comp can be used as a NESA get together and say late Jan or Feb we can meet up at South Shields (or where ever someone suggests) for another comp/fundraising get together,it will take the edge off the seriousness of a competition and it will give the chance of the lads and lasses to meet everyone that attends.

ill give it a go anytime is ok for me will fish the pier or beaches im not fussy just wanna catch some of em fishies if we decide to fish the beaches need some help on marks as ive only fished st marys and lynemout beach up that way looking forward to meeting you all see yas soon
