It's greed on both sides in my eyes the crabs are there for everyone who are willing to get them no one has traps. Get yourself down the Tyne and empty someone's tyres see what happens when you get caught

Everyone is entitled to opinions but what your saying is wrong the crab up silloth is there for everyone same as the river crab is there for everyone but a lads traps are his as he has night or collected the tyres making them his no one owns the skiers at silloth

Question, how come its ok for every tom, dick and harry to go over silloth and rape the living daylights out the place, yet as soon as someone mentions someones tyres there's kick offs ? Same thing theoretically, yes people have dug them in but the fact of the matter is no one owns anything below the HIGH water line, FACT. I am in no way enciting an argument, just wondering why people think they own patches of shoreline when they dont
It was bad a few years back for tyres slashed & cars keyed they looked out for signs on car advertising where it's from funny though cos I had plates made locally with Dumfries on the bottom & I never got touched,
Different story though if they came over to northeast fishing for cod they wouldn't expect to get their car damaged!!!!

not taking any sides..... No body owns the crab so they are free for anyone to collect as long as they aren't on anyone's property then they can't be part of that land owners rights,
The tyres & bait traps people put down belong technically to that person but if that person hasn't no permission from the land owner the crabs that enter them are therefore free for anyone to collect, I know 1st hand how annoying it is for traps to be raided but in reality there's f**k all anyone can do about it
It's the same story silloth, Devon, Wales etc or even my kids collecting sea life from rock pools whatever Is collected is there for the taking as long as your not trespassing or breaking the law while collecting them,
The environment agency can refuse anyone from collecting if they feel there is an environmental issue they could also with permission from the courts confiscate your crab if they feel you are acting with intent of cruelty or inhumane actions towards a living creature.......... So I thing we should all be fine ripping the shell off the back of a crab then pulling off its legs before ripping out its lungs & suffocating it in cling film before freezing it to death lol

What annoys me is these people who say they will do any bodies tyres where are they when they need to be dug out and reset but soon as you.ve done the graft and your not thier they try and reap the rewards my tyres are my tyres I paid for them with biscuts and a few cans from where I got them as a thank you to the lads who made sure thier was no nails in but as said I don't own the land they are in crab wars every year over the years I.ve had some crap been shot at with a slug gun bottles and bricks thrown at ne and my son hit with a stick had a fight with a father and son and had a tussle with a giant off this website but we are sweet now and luck after our patch
