anybody fished skinningrove jetty at northyorkshire.does the gate ever get locked.been named as one of yorkshires top cod marks on whitby sea anglers site

Excellent mark in the right conditions, namely a falling north westerly on a moderate dark flood, hit it on those conditions november/december and you have a good chance of a big bag.
Unfortunately the jetty is falling into the sea and now very dangerous.
There is an online petition on here to help save the jetty if you would be kind enough to have a look at. Cheers.

great cod fishing mark gate is never locked as u come on the jetty peice ov all missing seaward side very good spot on a big tide just behind the breakers fish just as the wall begins again u can fish the harbour side most ov the way down u will need a rod rest can b a bugger for weed but chucks up the bigger fish near the end is the pump house u can climb on a flat concrete slad about 6ft off the deck prob the best spot on the jetty but has four square holes were the metal sheets rusted away can b very dodgy on here best not fished in the dark if its y first vist ag u will need a rod rest then the very end whats left ov it some boards on the matal work and a few scaffy poles fishable but big holes easy fall on to concrete best fished in the day time if u havent fished it b4 chucks out decent cod when theres a sea running waves can come right over the wall and the gap in the middle best fished when dropping off best leave your car near the houses and not in the carpark some lads have had there cars done carpark is pitch black at night most lads park up outside the houses and never have any trouble
