sl20sh main spindle bent?!

last time i was fishing, my sl20sh started making a hell of a noise had another cast with it and then it started grinding. Ive just took it all apart, and found that the main spindle that is attatched to the biggest cog and the handle is bent at the bottom on the stud which keeps it into the reel. any suggestions of where to get a new spindle or where to put my reel in for service?

Don't know where you're based, but if you can get to I.D. in Byker then Ronnie's your man.

Quite a common problem with them. I've had mine replaced by Ronnie a few times. Think they're about £7 for the part but don't quote me on that :red:

had 2 replaced a few months back, come back like a new reel once its done

my mate has just had to fix his in the 20 and 30 models.
try not to pull your gear out of snags direct on the reel. always try wrapping it around a well padded coat on your hand.
i have never had that problem and always use the above method ;D lol
