[The Great Wallsendo]

Wow - two weekends on the bounce...things are looking up!

*cue dramatic record scratch*

Well…today was hard. Very hard indeed…

We met up at RQ at usual o’clock with guest angler Mark (Kayos)…we had brought along a few spare rods too (just in case )

We set out and the plan was to head for the horizon. After all, the sea was wick with bait fish it therefore stands to reason it would be wick with sought after species too

First wreck – quiet…but there were mackerel so no panic

Second wreck – boom…Norman into a fish of about 5 to 6 pounds…great we think, things are on the up

Third wreck – boom…Mark into a fish of similar stamp...OK, so this is how it’s going to be – hard work but we’ll winkle out fish here and there

Fourth wreck – quiet…

Fifth wreck – quiet…

Are you starting to get a feel for how this is panning out yet? Long story short is that we caught a mere handful of fish today for A LOT OF EFFORT

And I blanked Mackerel do not count BTW

Eeeh well, it does make the good days feel so much better when you have “honest” days such as this

I’m off to Scarborough for a few days (not fishing) but looking forward to the next trip already!

Aye a hard day indeed Tony, but a big thanks to Norman for being willing to take the Jonah out again, he is a man of great patience!

Great pic's Tony and honest report, those Slinky Shads are still doing the business. No snapped rods or jammed reels must be a better session than usual for Mark.

We’ve had a variable season that’s been very polarised. Lean sessions have been turned around by a prolific drift or two over the hard ground, while the wreck fishing hasn’t lit up yet.
