Well ,another great day ,cheers Norman , it's where to start that's the problem as so much happened , OK here goes , we headed off outside of the piers ,slow to start but then came the inevitable mackeral and yes you guessed it scotchies 
,anyway it's hard to remember the order in which the next few fish came , a nice pansize codling for Norman followed by a triple header for me , a codling of about three pound and a half with two scotchies ( pic to follow ) .Next to come was a lovely cod of eight pounds for Norman , a lovely clean fish which was stuffed with a small lobster and a few mackeral heads !! ,then from what I can remember came a first for me , a gurnard ,I'm always over the moon with a new species . Then the fish of the day fell to Norman we stopped over a wreck and I was filleting a few mackeral while Norman dropped straight down and into a cracking hard fighting cod of twelve and a half pounds ( nice one mate ) . We then travelled around a few wrecks as it went quiet then to St. Marys , another first for me ,a wrasse from the boat . Back to mark X where I got a strap ling and another codling for one of us ,it's a bit of a blurr to be honest .
Species caught today : Cod ,ling ,mackeral ,pouting ,wrasse ,gurnard ,coley, whiting.
Loads of different tactics used including mackeral flappers on flowing traces with 10/0 hooks but to be honest the only thing that seemed to work was baited daylights ,the water was very dirty even three miles out .
Nice to see the usual suspects out as well ( you know who you are ).
