'SLOSH 20' Issue - SEALINE 20SHV

I have an old SEALINE 20SHV, looks like a SLOSH 20 but with a gold looking spool and handle. It has a slight problem....when I re-engage the hadle after being in free spool it doesn't always connect back in properly and the whole mechanism goes stiff to turn the handle. If i wiggle the spool a bit it sorts it or a sharp turn off the handle sorts it. Any one heard of this issue and how to fix it?

Take it down to Rutherfords on Roker ave Sunderland and I am sure he will sort it for you

i will take a look at it for you if you are in the Sunderland area , i have had that reel and still have the 30 shv and serviced them myself so i no what i am doing with them .

Unfortunately I am not up that far north any time soon - but really appreciate the advice and offer.

I did notice there is a kind of 'block' on the spindle which latches into the handle mechanism. This block has some smoothed off areas - Could this an an issue?
