alreet all!!!
ive jus recently brought a brand new slosh 20!!! i havent done much proper shore fishin jus off the harbour in scarboro etc wit a fixed spool!!! i was jus wonderin if you have to put the tiny little red tubes in the reel as they come in the box!!! also if anyone knows a vwy detailed slosh 20 on line please can you tell me!!! ive got visions of me gettin in a right mess wit this reel!!!! thanks for info in advance!!!!

they are the brakes i believe. wether or not u need them depends on how u cast and set up . if u r not too familiar with multis then put them on . it will only take a couple of minutes

Yes inside the left side of the reel there will be a piece of thin wire metal going through the end of the spindle put one brake block on each end make sure you push them up so they are as close to the spindle as possible. Gently put the left side plate back on making sure you do not move the break blocks before the plate goes on as they will fall out. They are supposed to spins inside the brass ring inside the left side plate. Then with the left side plate on nip the screws up but don't Winch then up to tight as you can over tighten them.

Then turn the black knob behind the star drag back a little bit at a time until the spool spins Free and you should hear the brake blocks spinning and clicking as the spool slows down. Make sure you turn the knob up forwards so the reel doesnt spin to fast for casting or you will nest up.

Then just put your favorite line on and enjoy your fishing make sure your rinse your reel under the cold water tap after every use and leave it to dry. Sea water kills reels.

Sloshes come with no brakes fitted. There is a small set and a larger red set. If you are not familiar with the reel fit the larger red ones to begin with.
Good advice Davey by the way.

thanks lads!!! i know im a proper noddy but i thought theyd come wit a decent user manual lol!!
what exactly do the brakes do? and how come the more experienced anglers dont need them?
also that knob behind the star drag why can you have that loose or tight?
what does it doif its tight? and loose?

Brakes slow your spool down so you don't over run. The knob behind the star drag is the spool tensioner , it should be set so that there is slight movement when you move the spool side to side. More experienced anglers get used to casting the same reel with brakes and find them to run slower than they like when confident with the reel hence the blocks being removable.
In my slosh I don't have any breaks in I removed them and added a mono mag system

Be careful with the spool tensioner mate, have it too tight and you will bust the side plate if you drop or knock the reel. Just keep it so there is a bit of side play on the spool.
