with a bit of jiggery pokery it could be adapted I feel;)

thats where they go mate there is also white blocks you can use not sure if its for faster or slower when casting

theres neither on, i thought that was where they were ment to be like, am controling the reel with the centrif brake bit its very sensitive, might have to try and source some brake blocks for it so i can let the centrif off a bit and just leave it alone

You shouldn't use the end cap to adjust spool speed as it will damage your bearings. It needs to be slackened off so that there is a slight bit of play in the spool, just enough so you can move it side to side slightly.

As for brake blocks, get a biro pen and cut a couple of 3mm lengths out of the ink tube and put them on the brake spindle, works a treat and stops many burned thumbs!

I have one that came supplied with 2 sets of blocks (black and red) but it was a while ago

The pen refill sounds a good idea cos you can cut them to the size that suits your casting style

the blocks look like about 2 milimeters of the inside of a pen refill same clear colur too rutherfods sell them 1 pound a pair hope that helps mate

just bought a sl30sh this afternoon and it has come with red and white blocks the lad in frazers said to put the white ones first then the red ones . when the rain stops I will go for a few chucks and have a fiddle with them and let you all know how the results

I would say use 2 red blocks at first and then if you feel they are restricting your cast change to one red and one white. The order of braking is;

2 red = maximum braking
1 red 1 white
2 white
1 red
1 white = minimum braking
no blocks = no braking

I find one red block works well with 20lb line filled to about 3mm below the lip of the spool.

ive got a slosh30 and it goes to fast but i frightend to take it apart incase i lose any parts like i did with my penn mag

All you need to do is take the left side off (i.e. the side without the handle). There is nothing to fall out or lose in this side so you should be good. Gets a bit tricky when taking the right side off though, took me a while to get it back together :p
