i'm not taking the p~ss here but doe's anyone have any tips on getting the smell of bait / fish off your hands when returning from a session ? . no matter how many times i scrub mine or with whatever soaps washing up liquid etc i use the smell is still there , any ideas ? (telling your mates to smell your fishy fingers might have seemed cool when you were 13 but not now )

i use fairy liquid and sugar mate as the sugar acts as a grit to get under your nails and deep into your skin so gets all the stinkyness out lol been using this for about 3 or 4 yrs now and it does really help after a late session (going to bed with smelly hands is a no no )

try washing them in cold water with soap first then hot water with soap

There are lots of things that will work, I always carry a small bottle of wash and dry in the car. It is an antibacterial hand wash similar to what they use in hospitals and no need for water. It takes a lot of it away before you drive away. I think it was Mark that put me onto it a few years ago now. You can buy it in most chemists, and some supermarkets have their own brands. I know Asda, Morrisons and Tesco sell it for about a quid for a small bottle, and it lasts for ages.

When you get home use Big Seddo's idea, if you use cold water first it stops the smell "Cooking" into your hands, then wash them afterwards with warm water. It also works when cooking with fish or onions or anything that normally smells on your hands for ages after. I was told that one by a chef.

I sometimes use rubber surgeon gloves when useing smelly-baits(mussel,herring,mac.) you can buy them cheap in packs of ten or so.
just make up a few traces ready after your first cast and let the baited hooks sit and soak in the mussel container. it saves time taken the gloves off and on which can be a bit annoying.

Aye, Asda you get two bottles for a quid. Very handy stuff, we keep a bottle in the car for when we're out for the day with the kids and have a picnic packed, makes sure their hands are clean after clambering around old castles and stuff.

Thats what I use aswell along with one of those little nail brush thingys. Shifts all the crap and leaves your hands smelling of shaving foam.
I've also got some of that hand wash gel what Willywetegg mentioned. Don't think it cleans the hands that well but its good enough to stop the steering wheel getting messed up.

A good scoop of dog cack, rub it in, Guarantee you wont smell the fish.
Seriously tho, Shaving gel straight out the can, use as soap. smell gone.
