Hi lads i know its a strange post but anyone got any good tips or methods to get rid of smelly hands after ya been fishing, my mate reckons shaving foam after soap but tried it and thats nee gud ,the only thing that seems to kill the smell a bit is that flash bathroom cleaner ha lol:)

try a bit bleach or washing powder in the sink when scrubbing am sure thatll get rid of the smell if not blame the misses LOL

normal soap, then swarfega (not spelt right but i don't look at me jar when i'm stinking) then use alittle moisteriser (your hands will crack if you don't after awhile of washing with the stuff, takes the oil outta your skin) then after 10-15 minutes use alittle bit of that hand sterilising alcohol stuff. or use a stiff nail brush with normal soap... alot lol

heres my SECRET <[works aswell] get a packet of carwipes ect or summat similer ,get them out the pund shop or cheap shops ,thats what i use and its class ,ya steering wheel doesnt stink then ,dogs danglies;)

Go to the chemist or supermarket and buy some of the alcohol based anti-bacterial soap that does'nt need water. I think it's called Wash and Dry, but I know Asda have their own make. I have kept some in the car since Mark first mentioned it on here years ago, they are all pretty good but I think the lemon one is the best. It's about a pound for a small bottle but it lasts for ages.

superdrug do it as well, small tube. Odd stuff comes out as a gel, rub your hands together turns to liquid then seconds later has dissappeared

works though

Surgical gloves,
you can buy them in a chemist 100 in a box like tissues for a few quid,
also has the added bonus of no thumb burn, but they take some getting used too. (I couldn't get used to them, cos i'm a smoker)

best tip in the world ;)

shaving foam, works everytime. i just use the cheap sh*t and spray in my hands then scrub away :)

Wash your hands every day in lion **** mixed with a bit of human poo la la's, build up a general Kacka hand stink. That way when you come home from the fishing everything will be OK, the smell of worm, crab etc. will be like the wafting of an angels wings. Can't get any worse can it :D

Cinnamon - I hate the smell of cinnamon and fresh bowk.

Always use cold water to wash your hands in first, if you use warm water the pores and skin opens up and absorbs the pong!

I always keep a solvent cleaner in the van which i use to clean pvc,bit like nail varnish remover,it takes the smell away and the stains caused by various baits, stings a bit if it gets into cuts

PMSL. My hands never smelt but the melted surgical gloves were a buggar to get off. Class. :D

a point to note around the alchohol based gel is that it kills germs also and stops you getting bad guts, mrs is an infection control nurse so she always makes sure i have some in the fishing bag - use it before eating your sarnies and when finishing fishing works a treat.

i was sick of my fingers smelling fishy, even when i hadn't been fishing, used to use shaving foam, but prevention is better than cure so now have a quick squirt of barrier cream on me hands before i go fishing, (when i remember like), then just wash your hands when your'e fininshed, job done. barrier cream is the way forward. works the same for other smelly finger problems also...........

My wifes a nurse as well and I can vouch for the alcohol based soaps and gels for killing the fishy smells that we all know and love :)
I remember some people calling me a tart for using this stuff but I think that the "real anglers stink" attitude is dying away. Who knows we might even get some of the old hands using deodorant :o

My missus is a lab worker. She deals with germs and ****e in foodstuffs. I love coming home stinking with my smelly hands it really winds her up.
