smiths dock 23/1/13

looked out window today saw the trees was still so decided to go an have a chuck,got down 2 smiths dock around 11ish,3 lads fishing an hadnt had much,fished 1 rod, 2 hook flapper while i decided 2 practice my casting,with other rod,the sleet came, right into my face, an i thought wtf, im i doing,then got a cracking bite,,whitey 40cm,after a few more chucks with practice rod decided 2 throw that 1 out as well,as i picked up another 6 whiteys on 1st rod all in size ,ended up with 7 whiteys, (5 codlin under size) an 5 flattys,all returned ok,part from 2 whiteys,of 42cm,baits used was runny down,mussle an maccky,altho the macky done the bizz,on most,fished till about 6ish, all in all a nice day,
 
no probs was useing size 1 on two hook flapper an on other rod pully rig with size 2 top an bottom size 1aberdeen,an yeah wasnt a bad days fishing,

Aye a got told to just use small hooks last night off another lad that was fishing there but don't have any.but a na for next time ;)
 
Just depends on what am going for but av been using 4's at the min coz am gan for a fat cod but its not the first person to tell me to use small hooks down smiths a got told there much better chance ov catching.like last night a was getting loads ov knocks but couldn't pull much in so maybe it's down to that u just never know?
 
hi john,i understand why u went with size 4,,,for the biggun,i was only useing small bait so wasnt exspecting a biggun,,,other rod had size 1 on bottom an size 3 on top < pully rig> with bigger bait
