guys

have been in the chinese supermarket in leeds and they have a box of around 20 individually frozen soft back crabs (back around the size of the top of a baked bean tin) the box is about £16 has anyone used these as bait - they just look like a whole crab with all the gubbins still in them. Are they any good.

Hi mate, lad i worked with used to use them, cant recall him saying that they were good or bad though.he used to get all his razorfish from the chinese supermarket`s too.

Jason, Ive tried them on a couple of occasions (as you can also buy them in Newcastle chinese supermarkets) but with no joy...I believe they are velvet swimmer crabs...I also used them in cocktails with mussel and worm...again blanking, it may be that the fish just were not playing on the occasions that I used them, and someone else on here has found them to be succesfull, but I must admit they certainly look as if they would do the business. give them a try mate..would be great to find they can work, as they are so easily available.

i tried them this summer for the smoothhounds on a couple of occasions...never did any good with em. Dont seem to have much juice in them compared to the usual crab.
