Something missing

Well it took me a while to realise what was missing from my week but now i know, its checking the weather forecasts of 3 sites each day starting on the Tuesday morning:)

I think since May this is the 1st week i have not spent looking at the forecasts every day waiting for the high pressure and light west winds.

All the gear off the boat now so that is it until i get bored and try a close in rough ground trip then the next sesh will be a cleaning and service one when its in dry dock.

Had a job up by RQ earlier on in the week so I called in and had a look at the RQ marina, as I've never been before, its a tidy marina.

Seen Stingray moored up but I could'nt spot Slinky Kate.

Recon you'll have no trouble selling Stingray if you decide to sell, nice boat and arvor type's don't come up for sale in the north that often.

Yer she a tidy boat and be better after her clean and service.

Norman is over the far side and hard to see from there, cant fault the RQ just the price lol

Aye mate, 2nd fingers in from the ship pub ....
and unfortunately thats wheres she staying all day today with the wind as it is :(

Its great on the fuel i got 100 miles to 0ltrs heading out, heading back in would be a problem thou :)

That sea will have finished off the mackerel shoals close in thats for sure.

Hahahahaha not yet mate, we usually get our first falls next month. Mind you, some years we have had it earlier but sometimes still had some in June :o :o :o

There are pictures in the bowls club up here of when their match had to be cancelled due to snow in June lol. No one believes it if they don't know Consett well lol.

I can second that Jim, spending 8hrs a day there !
Have had times over the past few years alone where lads have had to work through the night cos they couldnt get home ..... mind you they did live even further in the sticks than Consett (Tow Law / Wolsingham :) )

Your talking some cold places there Norman   years ago I was a self employed taxi driver and I used to do a run once a month from Wolsingham to Newcastle to Greys Casino. They phoned me up one Saturday in the winter to see if I thought I would make it, I told them yes and would get them back home if it got no worse. The lad that booked it lived in Consett and said they could stay at his if it was bad. I picked them up at two in the morning from Grays and skidded all the way to Wolsingham lol. I have never known lads that have been drinking all night stay so quiet :D :D :D

Some canny nights out in Wolsingham though :o :D well so I've been told lol.

Jim.

very heavy frost here as well, had to rub me eyes when I first crawled out of my pit as I thought it had snowed, reckon the first flurries of the white stuff will be here before the month is out
