Somewhere in South Shields

Blanked again

With the weather being so nice today i thought it would be a waste to spend the afternoon at work so after a meeting this morning i decided to head home for the fishing gear and the frozen macky out the freezer. Went to a spot at South Shields (dont know what it's called but there was a statue of a woman with a golden sail boat in her arms 6ft from me) that looked a comfy place to fish in the sunshine.
Fished one rod cast well out, which for me is about 80yds, with a 2 hook flapper and the light gear about 40yds with another 2 hook flapper. I had intended to spin with the light gear but one look at the colour of the water changed my mind.
Fished from 1.15pm until 4pm with only one 36cm flounder to show for it. Still nice to be fishing in a t shirt again though and i didn't blank:)
Tight lines all

The mark you fished is part of the old docks and is called the Spirit of the tyne, or 'the Angel' as I and friends call it.

Wouldnt bother spinning there, best catch would be the odd coalie and seaweed.

Well done on your session, you didn't blank and nice whether to fish in. :)

Cheers for that Andy, i'm still a bit new fishing on the south side of the Tyne.
It made a nice change not having to put the floaty suit on for fishing.
