Me and Phil decided to head down to the big beach after reading cocomonkey19k's reports of codling.
We arrived for around 3pm with the tide almost at it's highest point. For the first two hours not much happened, we were fishing the right side of the beach next to Trow Point. We also happened to bump into cocomonkey19k on the beach as he was also fishing and got a 1.5lb codling which gave us hope.
Due to the lack of action I decided to cast out as close to the rocks as possible, almost straight away I hooked a small whitey. As the tide receded we followed it down the beach and things started to pick up, most of the fish were caught on the low tide. I also caught a fairly big coalie on the high tide, it gave a monstrous bite.
Fish caught were:
2 Whitey
2 Coalie
1 Rockling
1 Flounder
1 Plaice
Here are a few pics of some of the fish
